ChildcareLink Pty Ltd | ABN: 91 689 935 171 | Last Updated: June 2026

1. About This Policy

ChildcareLink Pty Ltd (“ChildcareLink”, “we”, “us”) operates the website childcarelink.com.au. ChildcareLink is a childcare industry marketing platform that connects investors, operators, and landlords with opportunities in the buying, selling, leasing, and development of childcare centres. All property and business transactions are conducted through appointed licensed real estate agents in the relevant state or territory.

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with those obligations and all other applicable Australian laws.

Where practicable, you have the option of dealing with us without identifying yourself or by using a pseudonym. However, in most cases we will need to know who you are in order to provide our services.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, and postal address.
  • Business details — information related to childcare centre transactions you are involved in, such as business performance data, lease terms, and settlement details that you voluntarily provide.
  • Financial information — where relevant to a transaction, financial records that you or a property owner provide, such as financial statements, business activity statements (BAS), evidence of funds, accountant’s letters, and information about a childcare centre’s operational and financial performance. You may provide these through our online forms, by email, or by uploading documents directly to us.
  • Professional details — your occupation, role, provider approval status, or relevant qualifications.
  • Enquiry and consultation records — information you submit via our contact forms, open inspection registrations, phone calls, or emails.
  • Website usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and other analytics data collected through cookies and Google Analytics.

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business functions. We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, racial, or religious information) unless you specifically provide it and consent to its collection.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you — when you make an enquiry, subscribe to our newsletter, register for an open inspection, engage our services, or communicate with us.
  • From third parties — such as licensed real estate agents, legal and financial advisors, or other professional contacts involved in a transaction, where you have authorised or would reasonably expect such collection.
  • Automatically — through cookies and analytics tools when you use our website.

If we receive personal information we did not solicit, we will assess whether we could have lawfully collected it. If not, we will destroy or de-identify it as soon as practicable.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide information about our services.
  • Facilitate childcare business and property transactions.
  • Send you market updates and newsletters (only with your consent).
  • Maintain accurate business records.
  • Improve our website and services.
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

If you do not provide us with the personal information we request, we may not be able to provide our services to you, or may only be able to do so to a limited standard.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use, and disclose is accurate, up to date, complete, and relevant.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

We treat your personal information with strict confidentiality. We may share it only with:

  • Licensed real estate agents appointed by us to conduct or facilitate a transaction on your behalf.
  • Professional advisors — such as solicitors, accountants, and valuers — where necessary to complete a transaction.
  • Vendors or purchasers — where disclosure is necessary to facilitate a sale, lease, or other transaction that you are a party to.
  • Third-party service providers — who assist us with IT, website hosting, document storage and backup (e.g. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Dropbox Business), email marketing (e.g. Mailchimp), and analytics (e.g. Google Analytics), and who are contractually required to protect your information.
  • Government or regulatory bodies — only where required by law.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

6. Cross-Border Disclosure

Some of our service providers (such as email marketing and cloud hosting platforms) may store data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipients handle your information in accordance with the APPs or are subject to substantially similar protections.

By continuing to use our Website or services, you consent to your personal information being disclosed to overseas recipients in this manner.

7. Marketing and Unsubscribe

We will only send you marketing communications with your prior consent and in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). If you wish to unsubscribe, you can:

  • Click the “unsubscribe” link in any email we send.
  • Contact us at info@childcarelink.com.au or 02 9052 4987 / 0490 012 986 (SMS).

We will action your unsubscribe request immediately upon receipt. You may still receive non-marketing communications related to an existing transaction or enquiry.

8. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics collects anonymised data and may transfer it to servers outside Australia. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. This includes password-protected systems, restricted staff access, and secure communication channels. However, no online transmission or storage method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Where personal information is stored or backed up with third-party providers, it is held in encrypted form, and we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers protect it consistently with the APPs. Those systems are operated and secured by the providers themselves; to the extent it is beyond our reasonable control, we are not responsible for security incidents occurring on a third-party provider’s systems.

As our Website is linked to the internet, and the internet is inherently insecure, we cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of information you transmit to us online. Any personal information transmitted to us via the internet is transmitted at your own risk.

We will destroy or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed for any purpose for which it may be used or disclosed, provided it is lawful to do so.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

10. Accessing, Correcting, or Deleting Your Information

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct any information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.

We will action all access, correction, and deletion requests as soon as practicable upon receipt, and in any event within 30 days, unless an exception under the APPs applies (for example, where we are required by law to retain certain records, or where providing access would unreasonably impact the privacy of other individuals). If we refuse a request, we will provide you with written reasons.

To make a request, contact us at info@childcarelink.com.au.

11. Data Breaches

In accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act, if we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will promptly notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

12. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please contact us. We will investigate your complaint and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the OAIC:
